Setting the Standard in Tax Expertise and Governance

"To be the premier professional tax body, trusted by practitioners, businesses, and policymakers as the benchmark for excellence in taxation."
OUR STORY
The South African Institute of Taxation (SAIT) was founded with a clear purpose: to professionalise, regulate and elevate the tax industry in South Africa. In a landscape where taxation plays a critical role in economic growth and governance, SAIT emerged as a driving force for education, policy reform and professional excellence.
From its inception, SAIT recognised the need for high standards in tax practice, not just in compliance but in shaping thought leadership and ethical governance. Over the years, we have grown into the largest tax professional body in South Africa, with members ranging from independent tax practitioners to corporate tax experts and policymakers.
We are more than a regulatory body. We are a community of tax professionals committed to upholding integrity, influencing policy and ensuring a transparent and effective tax system. Through our collaboration with government, industry leaders and financial institutions, SAIT continues to drive positive change in the tax landscape.
As we look to the future, our mission remains clear: to empower tax professionals, protect taxpayers and contribute to a fair and thriving economy.
